I had heard tell of this earlier in the week, but a reader pointed out the coverage this morning. You can below watch the My Fox New York interview with Rittenberry and McGraw. The Post picked it up today as well:
Lance McGraw was on his way to work Thursday when the 23-year-old found a mission to test his mettle: a faint woman fell onto the tracks before an oncoming N-train at the Eighth Avenue station in Sunset Park–McGraw leaped to the rescue.
Waiting for the morning train at 8:30am, Parsons student Rosie Rittenberry began to feel faint. She suddenly fainted and tumbled onto the tracks. McGraw dropped his backpack and jumped in after her, lifting the 18-year-old, still unconscious, back onto the platform.
“It was a life-or-death situation,” Rittenberry told the Post. “This could have turned out much, much worse.”
After the horrific train accident that severed the leg of 16-year-old man earlier this week, it is good to hear a happy ending, and that old-fashioned heroism is not dead.

I followed up on JH’s tip. There was indeed another Fourth Avenue hit-and-run:
A 58-year-old Bay Ridge dentist was struck by two cars and killed while crossing Fourth Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY1 reported.
Harry Lewner of Cedarhurst was crossing the busy road around 9:15pm Thursday night when he was apparently struck by a Kia sedan traveling northbound, which then fled the scene. His body bounced from the impact, and was then struck by the 57-year-old driver behind the wheel of a 2001 Honda sedan, according to WPIX.
The Brooklyn Eagle featured a run down of what city council member spent in their recent campaigns for office. The quarter-million dollar figures seem like chump change when compared with the whopping $100 million that Bloomberg shelled out in his race for a third term. That said, it’s always interesting to see how much people think their seat is worth. Councilwoman Sara Gonzalez of Sunset Park made the list; according to the Eagle, she spent $232,858 during her successful bid to stay in office.
NY1 captured a sparse but passionate crowd gathered yesterday to support decorated Iraq War Veteran allegedly harassed and beaten by McDonald’s employees in Sunset Park. Luis Montalvan, the disabled veteran who said he was mistreated by employees at the Fifth Ave restaurant, made a statement excoriating the company for its treatment of the disabled and violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
“McDonald’s should be ashamed of themselves,” Montalvan said. “They should be ashamed of their mistreatment of people with disabilities.”
If any of take pictures or speak to the organizers, please send your reporting into sunsetparkchron@gmail.com. Include the names of sources, your name and any other relevant information.
